Questionnaire to determine where to start
We curated recommendations on playing activities that can simultaneously stimulate a child’s learning ability by mapping what they can do and what they are interested in. The questions below will help you gauge your child’s specific development stage. Read through them and determine which SP reading level that your child is in currently.
You know your child best.
Kiddie Riders
Is your child walking around and starting to be aware of his/her surroundings and using them to navigate themselves?
Is your child learning some colors, shapes, different animals, and counting little numbers?
Is your child starting to put things inside of boxes and also starting to take them out?
Is your child starting to make friends (either human or non-human friends), building stories/ creating narratives that involve them??
Tricyclers
Is your child veering from your suggestions and coming up with their own ideas for problem-solving?
Is your child starting to suggest alternative rules for playing with her/his friends?
Is your child starting to ask more “How” and “Why” questions more than “What” and “Who” questions?
Is your child’s range of interest in activities wide and are they taking interest or eager to participate in your activities?
Bicyclers
Is your child at the level of understanding the rules of multiple games without problem? (besides “hide and seek” or “tag”)
Is your child at the level of understanding basic math (addition, subtraction, and simple multiplication)?
Is your child able to calculate the pros and cons of different options? Is she/he able to come up with different strategies that would work for her /him?
Is your child starting to play team-based games and able to discuss their strategies with their team members?
