STEAM education

We have slightly different points of view.

We all know the importance of a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)/ STEAM (STEM + Art)education. Most of the articles and predictions around STEM/STEAM primarily focus on the importance of future job opportunities.

STEAMED playground’s approach is slightly different. We genuinely believe that STEAM is the foundation of all the learning your child will be doing throughout their life. The following is how STEAM Playground aims to approach each subject:

Science.

Truly knowing their surroundings, from weather to health problems, are a part of your child’s science education. Nurturing curiosity and teaching your child how to put their questions to the test, will set your child up with the foundation for a life as a life-long learner. We want our SP kids to become familiar with the scientific processes and approaches in an enjoyable way.

Technology.

Leaders push for change when they see something needs improvement. . In order to make effective, lasting change, leaders need to not only have access to tools, they also need to know the history of their tools in order to understand how to properly use them. We believe that apart of giving SP kids access to the latest tools and technology also means teaching them about the history of technology. At STEAMED, we believe this is the starting point for your child’s creativity and innovation process.

Engineering.

Whether your child is trying to build structures, develop social projects, or fix a leaking vase in the garden, we want our SP kids to use the right engineering tools for the problem they are looking to solve. Whatever the problem, we want your child to be able to move easily and excitedly between their “Engineer”, "Designer", “Scientist”, and “Artists”  hats to solve a problem with a "can do" attitude.

Art.

Oh, art, where do we even start? Art is probably the subject matter for which we have the most affection here at STEAMED Playground. We believe an arts education is truly the most critical skill for our SP kids to grow into respectful, responsible, and resourceful, social beings.

Here at SP, art is not just an activity to learn how to draw or make something colorful. It is about learning more and more about humanity through history, cultures, diversities, and knowing how to express our creative minds confidently, logically, and respectfully.

Math.

We often forget how math is involved in nearly every part of our lives. From finding out the best way to move from point A to point B, to learning how to play music in the right rhythm, to choosing furniture that will fit in the corner of the room, it is hard to find the part of our lives that doesn't involve math.

For SP, the foundation for all mathematical learning is developing a fundamental ability to think logically.

All the guidance we give is with the goal of ensuring our SP children to grow up as stimulating and kind people who discuss ideas, make wonderful, new things happen, and motivate others to do the same.
